At least eight children were injured after a school van carrying around 20 students overturned on Friday morning on the Harchandpur–Maharajganj Road in Raebareli. The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 am within the Harchandpur police station area, about one kilometre before the school near Ahiran Ka Purwa village.
According to eyewitnesses, the van was moving at a normal speed when a speeding DCM truck approached from the opposite direction. During the maneuver, the van lost balance and overturned on the roadside, leaving several children injured.
On receiving information, Sub-Inspector Prashant of Harchandpur police station reached the spot with a police team. With the assistance of local residents, the children were rescued from the overturned vehicle and rushed to the Harchandpur Community Health Centre, where doctors provided primary treatment.
